I commented elsewhere that I misspoke. I meant to say that the main component of Vision Zero, the 25 mph speed limit does not address turning vehicles.I am aware it is addressed elsewhere. I just wonder how seriously? Are drivers really being ticketed for not giving pedestrians the right of way and how is right of way being defined? Someone completing a turn and not interfering with a pedestrians movements although he might have already stepped off the curb is not obstructing his right of way. I also fail to see how restricting left turns and replacing them with right turns instead helps pedestrians. |
