I don't see why someone would have to pay another fare. Drivers frequently let passengers stay on at the terminal stop for the same fare if they've missed their stop. If the bus is going out of service, he can take them back to Mackenzie St.The guard could also board the bus at Mackenzie St and ask the passengers to hold up their passes. Although this might be a little difficult if the buses are very crowded. Or a control area could be built inside the College where passengers without passes would have to take the next bus back. The guard could explain so another fare wouldn't have to be paid. All this is moot anyway since IDs aren't checked anyway. And anyone with a car can enter the Campus without ID as long as he states his business with the guard and it's legitimate. I've done this numerous times to attend Community Board Meetings. I think the College is wrong for not wanting to make life a little easier for its students and personnel especially during cold and inclement weather. |
