"I see many doctors for my arthritus and gout. And they all seem to be the same. They are know it alls who can't even agree with one another. One will prescribe a medication to me and the other will say stop taking it or only take it when you need to.
Other doctors have told me I have damage to my spine from osteoarthritis and another will tell me its only a little arthritis don't worry about it.
And the positively worst doctors are the transit doctors at the medical assesment centers."

I can't say I disagree. My colleagues unfortunately do that. And it is not in the best interests of patients.

Sometimes we docs can also get into "tunnel vision" where we focus on one diagnosis early on and forget to "leave the door open." Besides broader training and better use of statistics, I think computerized decision support can help too. It is being used experimentally - though probably not at the TA!
