June 9, 2006 -- A 22-year-old art-school grad who was brutally raped on a subway platform exactly one year ago while two transit workers watched but failed to intervene took steps yesterday to sue New York City Transit, the MTA, the NYPD and the city. The unidentified woman's lawyer, Marc Albert, filed a motion of claim in Queens Supreme Court for an undisclosed amount of money, in hopes, he said, of changing policy. The attack took place at the 21st Street G-line station as the transit workers merely pressed "panic" buttons - as per regulations. The rapist has yet to be caught |
