After rolling south along Second Street, paralleling the NJCL, I came upon Sadowski Park and beach on the shore of Raritan Bay and the mouth of the Raritan River. Very nice place for views, and very nice place to photograph trains!! Let's take a look!!

To get to Sadowski Park, for those wishing to check out this spot, once you come out the parking lot for Perth Amboy Station, head straight south on Second Street, about 4 long blocks, which parallels the right of way through an short area of industries and what appeared to be "chop shops", past a school and right ahead is the beach and park.

Here is what Sadowski Park and Beach has to offer a railfan, and just in case you drive here, parking is available once you make a left at the sign "City Of Perth Amboy - Public Parking".......

UH OH!!! Sorry Fishbowl!! I had to do this to you!! Coming eastward across the Raritan River Drawbridge, Track 2 is Train #7244, Long Branch to NY Penn, armed to the teeth with MLVs, ALP-46 #4610 and 9 MLVs, Cab #7050 west end......

As, only briefly, the quiet returns, we admire the peacefulness at this spot, the sun shining bright, and a beautiful day this was......

But the "thunder" returns, as #7253, NY Penn to Long Branch, thunders across the span, MLV Cab #7024, 10 cars and ALP-46 4612 shovin' em across on Track 1......

And with #7253's departure, now we must depart!! Thanks for coming along folks, I hope you all enjoyed!! Maybe one day I will luck out here and catch one of the several Conrail freights that ply the line here between Browns Yard and Oak Island!! One day!! Until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks!! :-)

It is a very nice spot, you will not be disappointed!! What would have been better is if I got lucky to catch one of the freights Conrail runs there, between Browns Yard in South Amboy and Oak Island and the Chemical Coast Secondary along the NJ Turnpike. Someday I will get it!! :-)

Nice shots, Paul. I don't mind those things as long as they are not on the RVL. :-)

Thanks, man!! If I was an NJT guy, the NJCL looks like a line I would enjoy much!! If had the choices, your line would be a pick, next to the NEC, NJCL and Main/Bergen. Boonton and M&E look boring!! lol

Try getting the drunken assholes off at the low level platforms on a multilevel set when you have 3 guys working a train with 9 cars open, and the PA not working in all of the cars. See how much fun you have dealing with the people after they miss their stops. :-)

Thank you much. Neil!! And hey if you need directions to reach the Perth Amboy train station or the bay/river beach by the bridge, drop me an email anytime, unless you know how to drive there already or will be taking the train to get there. If you take the train, and wish to go by the beach side by the bridge, just walk parallel to the tracks out the parking lot and straight southward down Second Street, about 4 long blocks, and you will see the entrance to the beach. Drop me a line if you are driving or need any info otherwise, buddy!! :-)

Only difference is our high level platforms, but still it is adventurous enough!!
