They're not ghetto. Ghetto would have come out much better.

Like I told WillD, you can paint and letter the IHP cars then.

Unless you're talking about the Comet IV like the SubChat Collective thinks you are. It's the track level and how the "MMC" takes care of the cars even though the U34CH and Comet Is are part of the NJTM.

He likes to post hate-filled replies to all my photo posts.

Why do you respond to those responses? It only ruins your own threads.

Sure, do you have fifty bucks? I estimate it'd take me around 5 to 6 hours of work to complete the job and that works out to relatively low hourly rate. I've done a decent job repainting an old Bachmann F9 they insisted on selling in BN paint with the old silver roof and an SDP40 Athearn offered in C&NW paint for some unfathomable reason. I can't guarantee a job quite as clean as the model making companies produce these days, but it'd at least have relatively clean lines. It's all about masking, and using actual acyrlic paints. Just about the worst thing you can do to an injection molded plastic model is to draw on it with a permanent marker.

But then if you're going to try to kitbash why start with a painted model? You're never going to match the colors Walthers used originally, so all you're going to end up with is a mess. In short what was so wrong about having good looking Comet II cab car if you're unwilling to do the proper work to have a decent looking Comet III cab car? You can't exactly expect everyone to tell you how great your model is when you went out of your way to ruin them.

I had one of those C&NW SDP40s once, it was removed from service soon after the F59PHI arrived.

It gets the job done and I really don't trust IHP's way of handling personal information, nor do I trust their NYC-area dealer since the last time I was in his shop a few years ago he was charging more then MSRP for everything. I decided to stop going in there. Besides, Trainworld has a better selection and better prices as well as a nicer staff. I never leave Trainworld empty handed. IHP wants $60 for the Comet III, he'll probably want $75. Now if IHP did business with Trainworld, they might sell more models.

Train Dude being a dumbass and running his mouth while completely misunderstanding my post is not Terrapin Station's fault at all.
