If the R train stops at CTL during this GO it takes time to clean out trains. I have been stuck behind train waiting to go thought. All it takes is one person who does not want to get off at CTL and police has to be call to cause a major delay. With the R going to 179 if some on does not get off all they have to do is use the other set of relays for a little bit and wait for the cops. |

Although the reason given for the extension of the route is operational (becasue of the viaduct repair work), the extension is also useful to passengers because of the connections available at 4th/9th. With the G terminus at Smith/9th, passengers have to transfer twice (at Smith/9th and 4th/9th) to make this connection. |

What I heard we MIGHT be doing is picking again sometime starting in September For a 12/09 pick that will start after X-Mass.Doesn't appear to be so. The next pick to affect us will be a combination Vacation Pick/New Year's Day Holiday Pick sometime in October-ish. The next General Pick, providing that the new contract (most likely to be announced in late July) still gives us two picks a year, will go into effect around February 2010. HOWEVER, if the arbitrator rules only one pick a year, then this pick could go deep into 2010. So whatever you pick this time around, make sure that it's something that you will like. |

Actually a 2 pick a year arrangement might be to the MTA's benefit. When so called "light riding" schedules were used during the summer months, the schedule office found it more convenient to incorporate the educed summer service into a regular summer pick rather than to generate light riding supplements which would then have to be blended into the many supplements that were required for GOs. |
