Question about the rail line adjacent along the Newburgh shoreline

This was a question that I meant to ask after I fanned the ferry to Newburgh during the summer, but forgot for some reason. What's the name of the rail line along the Newburgh shoreline, and has it ever seen passenger service?

Original name was the New York, West Shore and Buffalo RR. The PRR originally had interests in this line, to compete with the NY Central, but the NY Central got it away from them via litigation or politicking or both. (I posted a thread approximately a month and a half back about the Weehawken terminal for this railroad, so yes, it has seen passenger service indeed; you even posted in that thread.) Nowadays, this is the "River Subdivision" of CSX. The Newburgh train station is still there as well.

The station in West Point is still intact:

Of all the times I've visited, I wonder if a light rail could be put there. It could do wonders for the local economy.

There, on the River/West Shore Line in Rockland County?

Thanks again to you and all of the others that answered my question. It would be cool to see passenger rail service to Weehawken or Hoboken come back to this line although I know that it will probably never happen.

Do you mean the Northern Branch (which should have LRT), or the Bergen/River Subdivision?
