Posted by Olog-hai on Sat Oct 11 14:35:33 2008, in response to Question about the rail line adjacent along the Newburgh shoreline, posted by Osmosis Jones on Sat Oct 11 14:05:04 2008. Original name was the New York, West Shore and Buffalo RR. The PRR originally had interests in this line, to compete with the NY Central, but the NY Central got it away from them via litigation or politicking or both. (I posted a thread approximately a month and a half back about the Weehawken terminal for this railroad, so yes, it has seen passenger service indeed; you even posted in that thread.) Nowadays, this is the "River Subdivision" of CSX. The Newburgh train station is still there as well. |
