I love both of the trolleys. I love the PCC's of course, and that Siemens trolley is excellent. The perfect ADA trolley. The T/O never has to do anything to help the passenger on board. |

That ex-SLPS/Muni car is now being stripped for painting by San Diego transit forces. I got pics over the weekend and they even took it down past the original SLPS red and cream to the metal. Alot of bondo was removed! |

That trolley sounds like it is in for some MAJOR TLC. PCC's are not terribly complicated machines, so fix-up should not be a big deal-unless of course they have to make parts.wayne |

Well, among other things they had to collect parts that disappeared from the car post-Muni ops, then the big thing was needing to get new wheel discs so it can operate on the Class 1 type track work, those things are mighty expensive. I help out when I can, manuals, tech help, parts ferreting. I haven't even been out there yet to see the cars. Now I need to get parts and helping hands for Philly air brake PCC 2647 I have stored down in Baltimore. |

Nice pics....glad to see San Diego restoring the ex-St. Louis, ex-Muni 1100's. Will they hopefully retain trolley pole operation or do they plan to install pantographs? |

Yes, but don't say that too loudly or you'll get a lot of angry, grey haired geezers tap dancing on top of your head.If I had a dollar for every time I've gotten in $h!t for saying exactly that, I wouldn't be worrying about paying off my student debt. -Robert King |
