A/C equipment has gotten smaller and more efficient over the years. Having said that, I nore that the article doesn't say anything about who would make the equipment or what the specifications are. |

The air-conditioning is also going into the new 'tube' stock for the Victoria line I believe. One set at least is being tested overnight I think. |

The problem with the deep tube stock is that space needed for A/C equipment is space taken away from passengers in those small cross-section trains. However, with the new stock, the Victoria Line is supposed to be getting increased frequencies, which would help with overcrowding - unless the new rolling stock and better service attracts passengers off other lines! |
