'The air-conditioning is also going into the new 'tube' stock for the Victoria line I believe.'I'd heard that too. I'm not sure how it is going to be done, though. The problem with the deep tube stock is that space needed for A/C equipment is space taken away from passengers in those small cross-section trains. However, with the new stock, the Victoria Line is supposed to be getting increased frequencies, which would help with overcrowding - unless the new rolling stock and better service attracts passengers off other lines! |
