Again, how many times must it be explained to you: the F is a very long line that is mostly local outside of Queens. It can't have any more stops or else current headways would be affected for the worse. The E is a much shorter line that ends in Manhattan and can afford to make additional stops without having a detrimental effect on headways. You really have to stop this obsession over the E because it runs the R32's you love to stick your head at the rfw so often. If you don't like the E local then that's what the F [as a Queens Blvd express] is for. |

You really must be new to Queens blvd lines: the G always ran 6-car R46's before the V train was created. There are enough AA [cabs on both ends] cars to allow for a 6-car train to run. |

This is speculation if:1 the G no longer runs on QB 2 the MTA doesn't run the V on weekends 3 the R isn't given extra trains to run to cover local service on Queens Blvd [4 a far fetched idea to run the Q to Queens Blvd] That is where having one of the express as local comes in |

OK then i'd like to see you suffer the E running localon the weekends, i have to take the E all the way to the terminal World Trade Center. just it running local in manhattan is bad, so the last thing i want is it running local in queens. and i am sure lots of other people will agree with me the E is Essential to people travelling to manhattan and it running local would be a very big inconvience. most people who ride the E on weekends get off at Lex/53rd to get the #6 and an F Express would be useless since they can't get the 6 at Lex/63rd |

If riders don't want to ride the local they can take the F and if they are going to WTC, they can transfer at W4th [which is more direct a route than what the E line goes when it goes to 8th Av and curves back to 6th Av].Well not everyone has to take the 6 at 53rd-Lex, they can take the R to 59th where they can also choose to take the 4/5 as well. |

Also I ride the 2 local from Chambers to Flatbush. I pretty much can tolerate a local run. Rush hours you would be better off in a local anyway.Non-rush hours there are less traffic so a local isn't as slow as it is during the rush hours. So it isn't 'hell' to have to make [for your case] an additional "wow 5 more stops" from 74th-roosevelt to Queens Plaza! |

Can anyone tell just when did the E-train run make all local stops on the Queens Blvd line during the day-time/early evening portions of the weekends ever in the history of the IND subway system? The early initial building period of the IND subway system would be the exception, but ever since the F-train came into existence, the E-train was express. Of course G.O.'s and emergency conditions are exceptions - we are talking about regular service. I see no rush on the MTA's part to change that, no matter the situation with the local service. Midnight hour service - yes - that has changed over the years/decades - but not the day-time early evening service. Just why do folks say that Brooklyn R-train riders should get screwed when proposing additional R-train service? Having many of the trains terminate at Whitehall Street is no benefit to Brooklyn riders. Just a reminder. Mike |

Simple...Most cases..folks only care about what affect THEM..not others...[see Error for a prime example of this..] It doesn't matter if the line has riders in BROOKLYN that need it just as bad as the Queens Blvd riders do... Start short turning trains at Whitehall...what gonna happen to the folks the want 4th avenue local stations? It bad enough that the headways suck as bad as the do as it is...but short turning train IN MANHATTAN sends the WRONG MESSAGE TO RIDERS. |

Well, if you look at numbers, the ridership levels at Queens stations justify the need for short turning R's trains at Whitehall, since more trains are needed between Manhattan and Queens compared to Manhattan and Brooklyn. |
