The T/A can't paint it ,either, it would be the odd ball in the fleet. Thanks for the information about it probably being an old photo. |

I have seen trains covered with spraypaint in europe, and I still find the window scratches worse. You blatently ignore the artistic ability of graffiti artists soley because they vandalize. You know some of these people do tasteful work, but b/c they present it through a medium that is illegal, you can't accept it. Illegal or not, it's art.And for you to say if he was interested in art, he would've used a canvas is perhaps one of the most ignorant statements I've heard relating to this issue. If he wasn't interested in art, he would've just put some meaningless lines along the car to make some stupid tag. No, this is intricate and time consuming. |

A simple crappy ass tag done in one color that takes up a lot of space on a train is disgusting. An elaborate design like that, however, is nice. When you see people getting shot and stabbed on the subway, trains derailing every day, lights not working, and litter all over the place, then you have something to complain about. |

While I do agree that the rampance of graffiti on subways in the 80s was disgusting, I think the fact that the overall time was not a highlight for New York makes people fear graffiti even more today. I highly doubt that should a graffiti epidemic return to the subways that it would come with the crime and lack of maitenance that was experienced in the 80s. |
