According to the EXIF info, it was taken on February 3, 2030 at 3:54AM.

He needs to set up his camera...

And I'd like to know the date/time as well. If it was today and recently, having that info in the OP would be useful in case someone wanted to head out to try to get more shots of it.

A great deal of harm is done. It tells the customers that NYCT is getting lax in its effort to keep the fleet clean, which then can make customers wonder whether NYCT is also getting lax in its effort to keep the fleet maintained, which can then make customers become ex-customers. It also tells the graffiti scrawlers that they can get away with graffiti, which can make them (and others who might consider doing more than scrawling graffiti) believe that they can get away with other things, such as other forms of vandalism, thievery, etc.

Do some research on the "broken windows" theory of policing for more on this issue.

That's another topic. The old spray-paint grafitti is more striking and it recalls a BAD time for this city. Billions were spend over many years to finally get rid of it. We can't slip back into that era.

I looked at the exif data for the image.

Date modified: Sunday, February 03, 2030 03:54:51 AM!

Additionally, the Date taken and Date digitized fields both contain this futuristic date.

I detect a Photoshopping! (Though the actual software used to modify the image is open to debate.)

Why would a digital camera be set to a future date. Even when you turn it on for the first time, the date is set to something in the past, like 2000.

Would it make sense for a person to mess with his camera's date and time settings just for one photograph? Especially with modern cameras, the date and time settings are buried in menus, so it would have taken a few seconds to adjust the date and time like that. I detect a fake, or his camera needs a dose of this.
