I just saw the new Al Gore movie on global warming and he mentions that in 50-100 years if Greenland and Anarctica melt Lower Manhattan including the WTC site would be underwater.

Maybe he wasn't as big an actor then, but Viggo Mortensen's character dies surprisingly early.

As previously said, some live, some die.

The problem is that when you arrest someone who hasn't done anything yet...they haven't done anything yet so you can't really put them in jail for much. Look at all the terrorism procutions which have collapsed in this country because the people arrested were nothing more than big mouthed losers who's anger was bigger than their wherewithall.

Not in the Herald Sq. plot.

If you want to win the giant vegetable contest you don't sabotage your neighbor 6 months in advance...he'll just replant whatever you tore up. If you can destroy his crop on the day before the contest there is no way to recover and you have destroyed a significant investment.

Or, he pulls his vegetable right before you go to sabotage it.

What happens when Intelligence agents loose track of some of the participants of the attack 2 weeks before the attack?

BTW, compare today's SDI with Regan's SDI. Many plans start out big, most end small.

Exactly. But there's still some type of shield in place.

I'm not entirely familiar with the Reagan project. Know where I can find info on it?

You better listen to mike. He may have a point in what he says. After all, the 9/11 hijackers were unable to act until they bought their tons of explosives. Had we been able to stop them from buying explosives, the world trade center would still be standing, right?

I was wondering how the water would get out of the Road Tunnel to flood Lwr. Manhatten.

That water could of course find its way to the Subway.

No, but they took flight lessons, came to this country, overstayed their visas and has direct contact with Al Queada. Those are concrete actions, not idle discussion.

As I said, IF authorities in Lebanon can even convict them of anything they'll serve a couple years and be back out on the street as pissed off as ever. How is that a win?

But now we've lost track of the participants period. Since there was nothing invested you can have perfect failover to a new crew that we don't know about nad who won't make the same mistakes of talking on open message boards.

Its like the battle of Midway. When you know your opponents plans you draw them in to be destroyed. You have to rely on the stregnth of your army or police forces to deal with the threat properly. If you tip your hand too early all you end up with is the ante and the game continues of.

Of course I'm sure W would just hate the "War" on Terror continuing on indefinitly and its not like big terror plot disruption reports help his image or anything.

"Its like the battle of Midway. "

Not quite. We got lucky at the Battle of Midway; it could just as easily have gone the other way. Our intelligence was good, but the difference between our blowing up the Japanese carriers and their blowing ours up was literally just a coin toss.

It was an example where planning was not what determined the battle, but rather the actual fighters themselves.
