Save Your Metrocards.

Posted by Fisk Ave Jim on Tue Jan 13 11:41:40 2026

The now obsolete Metrocards are not turning into collectors items. I'm hearing that some of them are now going for around upwards of $3K on E-bay. Who knew? I might have a few lying around somewhere. Could make for a few mortgage payments!

Probably the Supreme ones if they weren't made in large quantities.

The New York Times Metrocard (blue back) was too and quite collectible.

They are being listed for that amount but they are not selling for that amount. The majority of the news articles got it wrong.

There are no employee metro cards..

Anyone dumb enough to buy that deserves to lose every penny they spend.

Never heard of an "employee metrocard"
Why would an employee even need one? Just flash your employee ID and you're buzzed in or walk thru the gates as far as I know.
