Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Sat May 3 08:53:09 2025 Tuscarora Almanac for May 3 1917 – from The Book of Last Runs Evergreen Avenue station on the Myrtle Avenue El is closed. 1925 – from The Book of Last Runs This is the last day of Long Island Railroad ferry service across the East River between Hunter’s Point and East 34th Street. The last two vessels in service are the PENNSYLVANIA built in 1874 and the SOUTHAMPTON built in 1869. 1939 – from The Book of Last Runs The Sag Harbor Branch of the Long Island Railroad is abandoned between Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor. And for the Book of Last Runs:On May 3, 2009, service on Denver's original G line was discontinued due to low ridership. This line opened 2 1/2 years earlier with the opening of the Southeast Corridor. It ran from Lincoln Ave. to Nine Mile Park'r'Ride at I-225 and Parker Road. Initially, trains ran every 30 minutes. Service was cut back to peak hours only before RTD pulled the plug. With the opening of the R line, essentially an extension all the way to Smith Road and Peoria Street, on February 24, 2017, this route was resurrected. |
