The whole thing was a boondoggle.LIRR does not want to run special event services. That's why they built it. They also could have run shuttle buses from Queens Village and Bellrose. LIRR showed their contempt for the Spur last weekend, running trains only between Jamaica and Belmont Park, 2 round trips. You had to work out your own New York Brooklyn connections. This instead could have been the start of electrification money to Northport, a plan they killed in the 1990's. |

I saw it for the first time yesterday passing it on a train from Mineola to Jamaica (A diesel from Oyster Bay). It actually looked beautiful but then again it's brand new. I usually take the Babylon Line from Merrick (better parking than Mineola) but when I expect to come home late at night there are many more trains on the Main Line which stop at Mineola at night. |

Yes, unfortunately ridership has been pretty meager at the first couple of games missing the FEIS projections by large margins. I suspect it will go up and down over the course of the season as people try different options and the full station opens next year, but I don't see how they get anywhere close to 30% market share at this point. |
