Two image examples from the nycsubway.org website for the first model cars used on Philadelphia's Market Street line back then. The initial fleet, cars #1 thru #215, serving the route were built by Pressed Steel and Brill between 1906 and 1913. SEPTA later gave them the designation as their "M-1's", long after they were retired in service.PTC rapid transit car #43, 63rd Street-Market Street, Philadelphia, June 1960. Denverites heard, "Omaha!" quite often when Peyton Manning played with the Broncos. It seems he would yell out, "Omaha!" just before the ball was snapped. When asked what it meant, Manning said it could mean anything. |

Peyton had flair and could be great. Eli was always just competent, enough to win 2 Super Bowls but never great. And then he wasn't even competent. He should have quit years sooner. |

Congratulations to Peyton on being voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Interestingly, the Broncos had retired number 18 years before; it had been worn by Frank Tripuca. Tripuca personally gave his blessing for Peyton to wear his number in Denver. Sadly, the two never had a chance to meet. Tripuca died not long before the Broncos and Giants squared off in the Meadowlands. |
