Excellent photos!!
Thank you for sharing!

I was there in early spring 1976 and took two or three rolls of black & white photos.

In photos 3,4,5,and 10, how did that consist maintain power through the switches?

I'm trying to see the third rails.

Was there enough forward motion to carry it to the next pick-up?

CTA has been running 2 car trains for so long, their M/M are used to it by now and know exactly how much power to give it to make it across the gaps.

Nice pics! I've lived here since 2017, and it's the oddest thing to see 2600s on the Red Line.

I still remember when the 6000s ruled the roost.

At the expense of dating myself, I fondly recall the 4000s roaring through the State Street Subway.

A famous grade crossing was in Forest Park just east of Desplaines Avenue, where Chicago Aurora & Elgin owned tracks used by CA&E and Chicago "L" trains crossed B&OCT tracks. The famous advice to motormen was "Make a run for it and keep a stinger on hand just in case".

That's an awesome video, but, did all of the cars lose the rail? I've always wondered what happens if its just the lead car.

And was that a woman driver? There's your prob.

In this country rail operators are called "operators". And your remark about women? Your misogyny is showing. When I last checked, the laws of physics apply equally to the sexes.
