A famous grade crossing was in Forest Park just east of Desplaines Avenue, where Chicago Aurora & Elgin owned tracks used by CA&E and Chicago "L" trains crossed B&OCT tracks. The famous advice to motormen was "Make a run for it and keep a stinger on hand just in case". |
