Posted by IRTRedbirdR33 on Mon Jul 6 09:21:19 2020 Tuscarora Almanac - July 6, 1971 - The Book of First Runs Manhattan, New York Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation PATH opens a new terminal in lower Manhattan known as the WORLD TRADE CENTER. It is located about one block west of and at a lower elevation than the old HUDSON TERMINAL which was closed on July 2. The first train into the new terminal ran on Tuesday, July 6. Of course, The World Trade Center itself was still under construction at this point and would not officially open until April 1973.Although construction continued, the first tenants began occupying 1 WTC in December 1970. |

That is true on the first tenants:That building was not even completed yet I believe at the time that happened and would not be for I believe another year at least. The smaller buildings I believe were completed well before that. |
