Since TARS streetcar service ended in 1948, does that mean that 629 spent some time on the Yonkers lines?

I was in the city on May 21, 1967. It was a cold, rainy Sunday and once our bus from Paterson arrived at PABT, my father was off to the BMT to visit his elderly cousin, who'd been hospitalized. My mother, sister and I took a three-car AA train to 81st St. to continue our exploration of the Museum of Natural History. My father joined us there a few hours later and mentioned that the train he was on (either an N or QB) had to wait at the bridge for an inordinate period of time. That ruled out any additional subway riding except for our return trip to PABT.

We've had a few springs like that in Colorado.

I don’t know whether it would be as cold as the one you mentioned, but the late spring/early summer of 1964 was colder than normal and I recall going to summer school and having to wear a sweater for the first couple of weeks.

That was pretty cold as well but the entire period in 1967 was cold. You had what I think is still the coldest St. Patrick's Day on record (high I believe only 26) and days in April where the temperature never got above freezing (there was an old aircheck of Bob Lewis on WABC from mid-April where the high was only 32 degrees).

April 30, 1967 was a sunny, pleasant day while the next three Sundays were cloudy and rainy. We were in Montreal on May 28 at Expo 67, and it was nice that day.

You mentioned an aircheck of Bob Lewis on WABC in your post, lest at the risk of being accused of thread hijacking, more aircheks of Bob Lewis and other "All Americans" from the glory years of WABC top 40 radio can be heard on Rewoundradio.com or thru the Tunein app all thru the weekend. Old music, great DJs, old commercials, newscasts of the day, just a trip back to the past where you can tune out all the grief in the world today, at least for awhile.

My father noted a few temps in the 30s in April and May of '67 in one of his notepads.

Actually the night of April 29-30, 1967 was very pleasant. Several of us were riding the last runs on the CNJ into Newark and Jersey City. I remember hanging out at Broad Street in Newark and it was quite a pleasant evening.

I also remember that weekend. On the 29th, we went down to Linden for a First Communion party hosted by my parents' sponsors. Their grandson was making his First Holy Communion and they went all out - renting a hall, hiring a rock band (they must have played I'm a Believer several times; it was the biggest hit of that year), the whole nine yards. My sister and I had a blast.
