Re: PHOTOS: New Paoli station

Changing the subject a little, the alleged "Five Towns" along the Far Rockaway Branch are not towns at all. Only 2 of them are incorporated villages (Cedarhurst, Lawrence). Hewlett and Woodmere are just federal postal zip codes, and Gibson is just a part of Valley Stream with its own zip code. Then there are place names like Hewlett Harbor, Hewlett Bay Park (one or both of them are incorporated), Woodsburgh, and Meadowmere along Rockaway Tpke completely surrounded by Queens, but served by the Cedarhurt post office.

There is little sign of the under-jump of the loop track too.

No, that isn't how it works. I look at the politicians' positions and their actions, and that tells me what they are about. All of this info you can get online, and they admit it themselves.

Yes, and all of them are part of a single actual town: Hempstead.

New Jersey is different. What would be villages in NY are called "boroughs" and not a part of the surrounding townships. Pennsylvania may be set up the same way, but not sure.

There are villages in NJ though. They’re rare. South Orange is one. They are still not part of the surrounding township.

Also we are the only state who calls its county board members "Freeholders". There is a bill in the legislature to change that. I think NJ look like a bunch of hicks with that colonial-era term.

My bad, Bob's photo shows the station and adjacent to the outbound platform are the new condos, on the east side if Valley rd. What is happening with the cleaned up super fund site,I do not know.

So that begs the question: if there's no more yard at Paoli, where are the trains being stored now?

Are there bikes in those lanes?

I remember when many decades ago when they started shrinking roads for "bike lanes". And I never saw anyone use them until decades later when I lived in a hippie state. There they use the bike lane sometimes, go up on the sidewalk, run the red light, go back in the bike lane.
So useful.

Like when Obama decided to cancel the Sunset Limited, and that I've yet to see any other "temporary" set-back not cancel.

After how many years, I'm still waiting for an answer of where these Amtrak trains are that he was supposed to support. Because, as far as I can see, only Florida built a train, a a private company did so, under a Republican Administration.
