Tuscarora Almanac – November 12, 1935 – The Book of First and Last Runs Manhattan, New York New York Railways The Eighth Avenue Streetcar Line is converted to bus operation. This route began service as the Eighth Avenue Horse Car Line in 1855. The last operator of streetcars was New York Railways. Bus service will be run by the Eighth Avenue Coach Corporation as the M-10. The Class K engines had a 4-6-2 wheel arrangement and were built by the Altoona Shops between 1914 and 1928.
