Has any NYC subway equipment ever been passed on to another system in the same manner?

Only thing I can think of are ex-2nd Avneue el cars sent to California, and a few other places for the war.

Always found that ramp at the end of platforms in the British Isles interesting.

Yeah, it’s basically those and the SOAC as an honorable mention.

Some retired Manhattan el cars went to the H&F in Maryland, a couple dozen el cars demotored and sent over to Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas to shuttle war workers behind steam locos. Ex-Brooklyn Bridge cable cars went to serve another interurban in the Midwest, and I understand 55 or so steel IRT trailers painted orange went to serve war time workers on the Illinois Terminal being pulled by one of the line's electric loco.

I doubt that any IRT steel trailers would have been sent anywhere since the IRT Division has always had a chronic equipment shortage.

It was the IRT Composite cars that were sent to the Illinois Terminal Railroad during the war. All were scrapped afterwards.

There is a photo of three Composites being pulled by an Illinois Terminal interurban on page 327 of the ERA's "The Elevated Railways of Manhattan" book. (the same or a different photo of this is also IIRC in The Interborough Fleet book).

On page 326 of the same book there are two lists of the 54 Composite cars that were removed from IRT property and sold to the Illinois Terminal Railroad on June 23rd and July 1st, 1942

Of all these exported IRT el cars, is it true that only a couple survive at a museum in California ?

I don’t know about “only” but the railway museum N/O S/F (I can’t recall the name) has at least 2.

From nycsubway.org:

two Manhattan gate cars, 844 and 889 have been preserved:

Used at the Richmond Shipyard Railway (California) 1943-1945, where they were renumbered 561, 563 respectively. Now at the Western Railway Museum, Rio Vista, California. In 2014, car 563 was repainted to Shipyard Railway WWII colors.

IIRC one or both are operable.

Besides car "G", nycsubway.org lists the following two Manhattan el cars that are still in existence - status and location, I think, of #782 is still in question.

#782 Was at Knox & Kane Railroad, Marienville, PA. (Stored inoperable.)

#824 Motorman Instruction Car. Now at Shore Line Trolley Museum.

The entire Knox & Kane railroad was liquidated. Whatever was not bought and removed was scrapped on site. IDK what happened to 782. They did cut up LIRR P54 coach 7016.

From the Wikipedia article on the Knox & Kane:

On October 10 and 11, 2008, the [Knox & Kane's] rolling stock was auctioned off as part of a liquidation sale. The Kovalchick Corporation (which also owns the East Broad Top Railroad) bought the property.

Kovalchick corporation is a scrap metal company.

I found the name of the auction company from a local (Bradford, PA) newspaper article. A call to them may possibly find some further info. about #782, whether it was scrapped on site or bought at auction. It's on my follow up list - busy week this week, but I'll se if I can get to it sometime.
