The second car left the el structure and landed in the street. Twelve people were killed and over forty injured. Tuscarora Almanac - September 11, 2001 - The Book of Wrecks Manhattan, New York Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation A seven car train of PATH PA series cars is badly damaged when World Trade Center Tower 1 collapses. The train was laid up on track one. The consist was PA-4 845, PA-1's 139, 143, 612, PA-3 750, PA-2 160, and PA-3 745. PA-1 143 is now on display at the Trolley Museum of New York in Kingston. I got my driver's license on this date in 1973. And in 1980, I set off for Colorado, thereby missing the lowest point the subway system would reach. By the time I visited NYC again four years later, the system was starting to come back. I saw my first Redbird 7 train and first R-62 4 train then.Also on this date in 1973, the Express Ride From Hell took place that afternoon. |
