If you pay less than $2.75 for your slice, your transfer will be good for a ride on a local bus or local subway train. If the slice is more than $2.75, the transfer is good on a local bus or express subway train. The two cards will be distinguished by a tomato sauce stain on the $2.75+ card. |

I can’t say the the price of a slice pizza always reflected the subway fare. When I lived in Wash Hts the fare was 15 cents and a slice of pizza cost 10 cents. On the other hand when I bought a slice of pizza near the 179 St IND station, the price there was 15 cents. |
