Tuscarora Almanac – June 26, 1952 – The Book of Last Runs

Weekday midday No. 14 Broadway-Brooklyn Local service, midday No. 15 Jamaica Express us discontinued. Rockaway Avenue station on the Fulton Street El is closed during night hours and at all times on weekends. No. 13 trains will terminate at Eastern Parkway at these times.

A new station is opened on the Bergen County (former Erie Main Line) Line at MP 5.0.
It is known as “Harmon Cove” and was built to serve the housing development of the same name. This station will close in August 2003 when the “Secaucus Junction” station opens.

Service is discontinued on the M-8 Grand Street Line. This line had been operated by the Avenue B and East Broadway Transit Corporation until 1980.

AFAIK, the Bergen County Line was, in fact, a totally separate entity within the Erie corporate structure - the Bergen County RR, in the same way what we know now as the Pascack Valley Line was the New York and New Jersey RR - same corporate officers, and most likely same receivers and trustees, but none the less, separate - even separate listings in the Official Guide...

No impact on today's squib, but still interesting.

As far as Harmon cove is concerned. 15 years must be a record for shortest lifespan for a commuter station in the area...

Lou: Erie Railroad and early Erie-Lackawanna Railroad timetables refer to it as the "Bergen County Railroad".
