B train pull-in's from Coney Island?

Question - do any B trains pull in in the morning from Coney Island to enter service, or are all of those trains stored on the center tracks between Brighton Beach and Ocean Parkway?

Most B's in brooklyn are layed up at Stillwell Yard and CIY. They enter service by going through Stillwell terminal up the Brighton to Brighton Beach. No B's go into service from Coney Isl station. Usually a couple midday B's lay up bet Brighton Bch and Ocean Pkwy for a couple hrs the rest go to the yds.

Do you know whether these B put-ins use the A3-A4 "express" tracks between Ocean Parkway and Brighton Beach?

Are the layup tracks between Brighton Beach and Ocean Parkway used for the "over-night" storage of trains? Or are those tracks cleared of trains except for the mid-day time periods?

Mike

Years ago before graffiti, all the middle tracks between BBC and Ocean Pky and the 2 middle tks in Ocean Pky station were used for overnight layups. The area was popularly referred to as “Brighton Bch Yard” and although there was no train dispatcher at BBC overnight, there was a yardmaster assigned there.

There was a period of time in the 70's and 80's when there were two D's that went into service at CI and then switched to the Express track at BB. There was also one D before those two that went express at KH. Although that was a time when D service was the Brighton local evenings & weekends so I'm net sure if those actually started at CI yard.

Yes, growing up I would visit the sleeping D trains on the Brighton. Also used to wave to the Towerman at Kings Hwy from the south end of the Kings Hwy plat. All long gone.

After the PM rush (M shutting down for the evening), the first train from STL, the 1957 from STL, came down lite from Brighton Beach, or in some cases got changed over from an M. That was my interval for a pick. The 2nd one, the 2009 from STL, arrived in service from 205 (the first relay)

The tower doesn’t “close” since it’s controlled by CIYd master tower.
