Jamaica Center may not have been designed as a terminal per se, but the location of the switches there allows for its use as a terminal. There are/were several locations that weren’t specifically intended as terminals either, but switches were planned and installed to allow for their temporary use as terminals such as Rockaway Av, Bway/ENY and Flatbush Av. There were no plans at all for the installation of switches at 76 St to allow for its use as a terminal as the available photos of the 76 St station on Euclid’s model board indicate. |

Just past the Jamaica Center - Parsons Blvd station, the lower level (BMT J/Z Trains) has the trackage (both J1 and J2 tracks) all the way for the provision of a diamond crossover switch at the end (circa 160th Street), and perhaps extending into a possible terminal station at Merrick Boulevard or 190th Street. |

I wish I could have been here to enjoy it two days ago. See the missive I sent to Steve B-8AveEXP and you'll know why. Nice picture by the way. That New Utrecht Station almost bisects the West End Line above it. That used to be the stop we'd get off at when we had Sunday dinner at my Mom's parents back in the late 40's and early 50's. I liked going to my Dad's parents better only because we got off at Avenue U, many stops and tunnels later on that line. |

Posted by Broadway Lion on Sat Jun 25 12:48:38 2016, in response to Re: New South Ferry station, posted by Steve B-8AVEXP on Fri Jun 24 20:30:34 2016. Since the polyticks has poured itself over here, I will old my nose and vote for TRUMP. Who know, he may turn out to be the best thing this country ever had.Mean while, I am planning that ND, SD,NE, KA, OK, TX NM, AZ, CO, UT,WY, MT, UT, IO, MN, MO, AR and LA should separate from the Union. Call it the MIDDLE REPUBLIC. The 18 Governors would be the Board of Governors, and would elect one of their numbers as President of the Board of Governors. The 18 Attorneys General would meet in congress to write a constitution. The Senate would consist of one representative from each stat to be appointed by the Governor, and to serve at the pleasure of the governor. The House would consist of four members from each state, elected by the people. This is a non-party position, the four with the most votes serve four year terms. The Judiciary consists of one Judge appointed by the Governor to serve a ten year term. The court (for a particular trial)consists of three judges selected at random drawing by the Judiciary. The Appellate Court consists of three judges elected by the Judiciary to serve the duration of their terms. They will not sit on other trials. MONEY: The Middle Dollar ᵯ will match the US$ until the end of the year, and then will float against all currencies. At such a time the US$ will no longer be accepted in the Middle Republic TAXATION: There will be no Republic Income Tax, nor will there be any Republic tax on business or corporations of any kind. (Member states will be encouraged to drop corporate taxation as well.) The Idea here is to suck business and wealth out of the other states and the rest of the world as well. Member States will continue their own tax systems, the VAT tax is the principle tax of the Republic TRADE: The Middle Republic is a net exporter. We export meat, grain, wind power, oil, gas, electricity. We will aim for increased manufacturing of finished goods, but will remain an importer of these goods. Since we do not accept US$, trade is carried out by a "Factor" who purchases our goods from us with our Middle Dollars (ᵯ) and sells them elsewhere for US$ or other local currency. They then use the local currency to purchase the goods we require, and sells them to us for Middle Dollars (ᵯ). Naturally, we accept gold and silver at market value. Trains and trucks can be sealed and transverse the Middle Republic without let. Unsealed shipments are deemed imports and will have an import tax visited upon them There are no Republic taxes on fuel or transportation, all Highway Taxes are raised by the Member States who will in turn maintain their own roads and bridges. Transportation revenues are raised by vehicle registration, and by tolls. Vehicles registered outside of the member state will purchase tolls to use the roads. Tolls are sold by the day, week, month and year. If I drive in North Dakota, my toll is paid by my vehicle registration. If I drive to South Dakota, I purchase a Toll to use their roads. A person wishing to drive from Illinois to California may have to purchase four tolls. MILLIARY: Bases within the Middle Republic become bases of the Republic Military, however a contract will be arranged with the US government for Military service, and the Republic will pay 36% of the annual military budget. Citizens of the Middle Republic may serve in the US military or in their own State Militias. State Militia and especially Coast Guard service will be stepped up. The Executive Branch. There is no executive branch per se. The Board of Governors will jointly hire a CEO and a CFO to serve at their collective pleasure. Legislation. ALL legislation begins in the House of Representatives, and once passed is moved to the Senate for an up or down vote. It then becomes law. ALL budgets are written in the Senate and then moved to the house for approval or amendment. If approved, it becomes law, if not it is returned to the Senate. DOES anybody want to move to the LION'S Middle Republic? ROAR A similar arrangement is arranged for FBI services, on a per capita basis. |
