If you equate it with the High Line, which is essentially a steel trestle. But Queensway Park would be mostly an embankment surrounded by a wooded areas through lower density ares than Manhattan, and also goes through Forest Park. It will be hard to police. |

Exactly:Many in my opinion are likely fearful that certain people "not their kind" would flood the area and drive down property values, especially those who still think of the subways like they were in the 1970's and early '80s. That is especially true if they were victims then and in some cases, it's children of victims who likely think that way. |

Other areas would be no different than walking the streetQueensway would be different than the High Line. The High Line has buildings overlooking and next to it. Queensway would be in a tree lined promenade away from buildings making it a haven for criminals. They didn't figure this out ? Bill Newkirk |

Mostly "out of towners" taking a stroll. Dripping with cameras & saying "ooh aah" at the observed buildings, boats & bilge in many different languages. The Queesnway Park is supposed to be for the locals. Unfair comparison. Not too much "ooh aah" potential at Queensway. |

The section from Metropolitan to LIRR is bordered by six story apartment buildings. It would be the safest.Within Forest Park would be trouble. I think the section from Ozone Park should be renovated to Union Turnpike then go east to Union Turnpike IND station and end there. |

Many reasons why NYC is the safest city in America. The demise of the Mafia is one. Immigration is another. The immigrants in NYC, like the Chinese, Indians, Peruvians, Colombians, and Ecuadoreans don't bring the culture of crime other groups brought in the past or now bring to other places like Suffolk and Fairfax Counties. Abortion. NYC is abortion capitol of America. Make it available to segments of the population who give life to criminals, and crime reduces. |
