Only time I got to ride the steels before they went away was when I was doing antenna installs for Bressners on Havameyer and they were still running on the M. I know a LOT of folks are going to be really happy to see them running again! :) |

Yes, it definetly was nice of them to let me know. It's greatly appreciated! If you listen closely, you can hear the D3Fs chugging away on the last car in the consist. I wonder if it was Iron only or if air was trainlined as well? |

The last pair still look like they need a lot of work, but those two suffered as much body rot as 2775 at Branford so just seeing them moving is a miracle right there. Lights on, a bonus. I've seen over the years what absolute wrecks they had to work with there on the horses at CIY and to see them move at all? *BONUS!* :) |

Won't leak any details, but let's just say that a "compatible electric portion" has been worked out for at least one end of the AB's. I'll leave it at that, more work needs to be done. |

Philadelphia has nothing like that.SEPTA did restore three of the old Broad Street cars. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot of places to run them. How many fantrips can you take on the Broad Street Subway. Its just too bad that they wer'nt stored underground. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I think part of the problem is they are the City of Philadelphia's property, and SEPTA does not seem to like baby sitting other people's stuff. They've still got a pair of CTA cars sitting outside 69th St on the Norristown line. Those are privately owned and IIRC the owner died a few years ago, but they are still parked there. |

DJ, I asked the same question about those cars on a Facebook group, not too long ago. The response I got, to put it lightly, SEPTA isn't a system dedicated to preservation of their older equipment compared to MTA, the Union Pacific Railroad, or CTA to name a few. The set that you saw in that video was in the same condition years ago. Bill and crew had to do a *lot* of work to get them as far as they are now. Years and years and years worth. |
