Randy. Short of both tubes being flooded, NYCT would not take both tunnels out of service. Plus, 11th Street cut would serve out of service moves for reduced length train sets (Five or four cars moves) for transfer to a yard for inspection.

Run Astoria Q's local up Broadway and reduce the backlog at 34th Street. The problem with Broadway service is at City Hall Master Tower.

1) Astoria-QBP Shuttle service all times

Using what fleet?

Remember, the Astoria line is cut off from the rest of the system.

They wouldn't run both the M and the R all night. Why would they run two services to replace one that isn't running? One or the other would run nights, not both.

Which shows why it would be worth building a new elevated connection that would connect the (G) from Court Square to the (N)/(Q) at 39th Avenue (NOT Queensboro Plaza). Such would allow for the Astoria line to have a connection to the rest of the system even if 60th Street is shut down and allow for the (G) to also go to Astoria.

They could run service, but there would be complications if cars couldn't be moved at least far enough into the tunnel to access the 11th St. Cut. They would need to cut back the platforms along the center track at 61st St. and Junction Blvd. so that B-division cars could be moved to and from Corona Yard (piloted by A-division cars with trip valves on the right side), and that would mean Flushing service would be local only for the duration, and until the platforms were rebuilt. Possibly install a connection between Corona Yard and the adjacent LIRR to move cars to/from Coney Island when necessary. Has such a connection really never existed?
