That absolutely sucks. :(I sure hope that when the investigations are completed, that something can be done to make such a collision more survivable. I know many stories of engineers for Conrail and CSX that have survived similar collisions who were saved by bailing behind the old AAR 5 stands, hanging on and praying. My prayers for this poor guy. |

My feeling is Mr. Steele got tossed around because he was standing in cab as a student engineer was running the train.maybe having a second certified seat in cab helps, but I don't think the Rotem cab cars have them. |

His actions being negligent in parking a truck on an RR crossing causing the collision when it would have been reasonable to believe that would be the result of the aforementioned action. English speaking or not trains run on tracks and when obstructed by another vehicle a collision would result, even in non-English speaking countries that happens.... |
