He was definitely bias in favor of commuter rail.The entire electric LIRR had to be M-1 by 1973, 10 and 17 year old MP72's and MP72's notwithstanding. On what was to become MN, the 1950 built ACMU's had to be gone too. Meanwhile, there were still a couple of thousand R1 through R15 cars on the TA. |

Not well. Ronan lied to Moses about his intentions to give Moses substantial authority for highway design and construction under the MTA set-up. Moses fell for it and was out of power completely by 1968. If Moses had not given in, the TBTA would not have been merged into the MTA, at least without lengthy court fights. |
