During boot camp...we were given gasmasks and sent into a room.Before we went in,we we told the Purpose of the excersise. Though the point of Telling us was to prepare us for what was to come..it did nothing to blunt the impact of the gas,that stung our eyes...burned our skin..caused sever nausea and vomiting resulting in a pretty horrible afternoon. I remember it well..never forgot that smell... You are pretty much useless after that for PT until you Recover.. when I became a peace officer,we were given a taste of what Pepper Spray and Taser was like...Not fun..painful. You are Subdued.. and need time to recover. So..after getting a face FULL of PEPPER SPRAY.. doesn't he look subdued.. cringing on the bench... After getting his fuckinghead split open by a lead lined night stick..does he look jacked up enough for you? Have You been cracked in your head by something so hard it made you want to run away...had pepper spray to the face? |

More than that ... many Black people who join the force do so because they're outraged by the behavior in their own communities and are determined to do something to stop it. Often, they're a bit more determined than most and tend to be harder on their own out of embarrassment or other personal reasons. When Black people join the force, the community is often rougher on them for joining the po-po and that resentment can build. Sadder yet, too many go off on their own instead of using their position to help and teach and instruct. It's VERY hard to be Black *and* 5-oh.In other words, "don't be doing this in my face, I joined the force to stop people like you." Once again, family. I've heard that first hand. My own family is more multi-cultured than most of America which is the reason why bingbong and I have gotten tired of the games here. |
