Well, well, well, HPA means either or both of 2 things:

1) The station remains for some diesel trains after ESA
2) They expect the 2023 date to slip some more.

In the mid-1980's there were plans to build another platform on the north side, and run a pedestrian walkway over Line 1, but not as high as the street, and punch a hole into the side of the subway station mezzanine.

I was gonna say it may/may not be necessary if and when ESA opens, but there are people who do work in Long Island City, so the work I can see happening!

Too bad the city of New York does not fix the 49th Ave. overpass over the HP station. There is a tremendous steel plate welded over the LIRR tracks.

I also take the train from HPA every Friday afternoon when going to my girlfriend's house in Northport.

And sometimes disembarking on the 6:37 arrival to HPA on Monday mornings while on my way to work in Greenpoint.

This elevator will be a godsend!

But the current situation is heart-healthy - I am sure you need the exercise.

Not if it's physically difficult for a person to climb stairs.

Wow, this should be ready just in time for the station to become irrelevant as ESA saps almost all it's usage.

This should have been done 20 years ago.
