Posted by Train Man Paul : Metro-North's Best Conductor FOR ALL 3 LINES!!! on Tue Aug 19 13:43:53 2014 This was from this past Saturday, on Amtrak #195, Boston South Station to Richmond VA, brand new Siemens ACS-64 (Amtrak Cities Sprinter) 614 did the honors of leading.....   And of course, it needed to be caught on video..... And for the bonus..... This past Saturday MN/NJT Training Train, from Stamford to New York Pennsylvania Station westbound on Track 1 approaching a Working Limits Stop Sign in place due to track work on adjacent Track 2. Consist for the days training train: ( From west to east) Comet V Cab 6079, 5438, 5256, 5323, 5369, 5330, 5383, 5377, ALP-46 4613.....   And of course, video delivers best!!! Thank you, Salaam!!! :-)I missed 3 big catches yesterday, Amtrak 170 and 93 both with ACS-64s, and Amtrak's Viewliner II Train all cruising the NH Line (though the ever so lucky Chuchubob caught it in Philly!!) because I ran an extra round trip up to Waterbury. However, my extra trip did yield this, in the 20 plus minutes turn time in Waterbury.....

Somebody will get incredibly lucky someday, and hit this meet jackpot somewhere on the NH -On the outside, a NH liveried M unit and on the other side a MN liveried train, and on the inside tracks, an NJT gameday train, and Amtrak of some sort. Is such a thing even possible? Only time will tell...plus a dedicated railfan or two waiting for it! |

Incorrect, the 6700s, which are the MNR Comet Vs, are indeed listed in the special instructions as being cleared to run the Meadowlands Service. The only NJT stuff not cleared are the Arrows, the ALP-46As, and the ALP-45DPs, and the NJT diesel fleet. |

They are indeed cleared to run on the Meadowlands service, but they are assigned to the Hoboken Division fleet assignments, primarily MNR's West Of Hudson services, the Pascack Valley Line and Main/Bergen/Port Jervis Line. They rarely show up on the Newark Division, which makes up the NEC, NJCL, Raritan Valley and Atlantic City Line. |
