"highly minimizing the water seepage" and "waterproofing" are 2 (two) TOTALLY seperate things! No, they are the same, as even with best waterproofing, you can't be 100% sure that no water will get through. So as I said originally, with enough time and money and skill, it can be highly minimized, to the point where either damage would not occur, or that a program of both scheduled and on-demand maintenance would keep everything in check such that the customer would not be aware of any seepage. Putting a layer of stone between the concrete and the dirt foundation would "highly minimize" seepage where a rubber membrane on the same concrete would be "waterproofing". Minimize, maybe. Highly minimize? No. Wouldn't waterproofing an underground structure effectively "stop" water from entering a large area of ground? No. The water is above ground. It then enters the ground. The underground structure begins below ground level. The water enters the ground above the underground structure but, due to the waterproofing, does not then enter the underground structure. |
