Why couldn't they put a decent horn on their cab cars ?A lot of LI engineers don't sound their horn much in advance of a grade-crossings. They seem rather hesitant to use it. Notice a lot of the cab cars are getting new diaphragms. The one piece one molded around the entire door is giving way to an ugly 3 piece job with sloppy, uneven cuts. (tool shed engineering). |

And yes, I do know on the horns, and also don't forget all the coaches are getting the diaphragms as well as eventually all the cab cars are getting the e-bells as right now 5010, 5012, and 5013 have it. I don't think there is proper room to put a 5 chime K5LA underneath as the current location is to where the horn is! |
