One is a train of R-16's freshly painted silver, with blue side doors. No R16 I know of ever got that kind of paintjob. An R4 did, the now restored #491: Most R16's never got any kind of paintjob after being put back into service in 1980 during the R46 truck problems. Except 6389, which got the blue stripe/silver body scheme of the 70's: |

I actually do remember the 16's painted with the blue doors as well as a handful of R40, and 42 also with blue side doors! The R32's had them mostly with the side doors redone with the blue until full GOH took place! |

In the mid 80's, the R42's, R32's, etc had a "mini" clean up where the graffiti was removed and doors painted blue inside and out. |

I remember the R27-30's getting mini-clean up paint jobs where the exterior sides were repainted in the silver with blue stripe scheme (which lasted perhaps a week if lucky once out on the road), but the ceilings remained dirty. They also sometimes painted the interiors (which also lasted a few hours once out on the road), without painting the exterior. |
