I recently picked up 2 books of subway photography-- Tod Lange's "subways and stations" and Paul Cavaliere "from the platform"

The Lange book-- which almost obsessively focuses on R27/30's on the J and M-- has a few paint schemes previously unknown to me.

One is a train of R-16's freshly painted silver, with blue side doors. There is no horizontal blue stripe, so it's not the MTA scheme, and the roof is not painted and therefore rusty and filthy. The only car # visible is 6303, but the entire train appears to be painted the same way.

There is an R-10 (2985 i think) in the yellow work train scheme, as well as a string of R-27's (8196, 8213, 8245).

There's also a train composed of 1 pair of redbird R-29's coupled to a bunch of IRT whitebirds, but this is on the center track of one of the Bronx el's and might be a non-revenue move.

And the Cavaliere book has an R-30 (8392) in the MTA scheme with blue side doors.

I'm thinking of picking up a few more books-- is the Tod Lange graffiti book any good? Or the Morning Sun one?
