And how are these people supposed to get to and from court, or to and from jobs if they get them? The transit system is the lifeblood of NYC. If these people are to get their lives back together, they need to be able to get around, and that means riding transit. |

I've heard of this thing called walking. As I understand it some people have been doing for a rather long time, even before there were trains. There is even a magazine called WALK, that's how popular it has become. |

They cannot stop anybody from using transit, however if you are a criminal and thus banned from transit, all you would be doing is committing another crime for which you can be charged. Lawyers *like* big long rap sheets to take into court, because they will earn more money if they have more to argue and bargain about. In the end, they either bargain that one off and get to keep the ones they wanted in tact, or they add a year to your sentence to an over-crowded prison thus releasing some other, perhaps worser criminal to the streets (and subways). the ROAR stops here! |

Well, they already have a Transit Adjudication Board. Now that the Need is a TDF: Transit Detention Facility. They should build it in the old trolley terminal. Make a bunch of cages to put people in and use a station agent to guard it. No problem feeding the residents, there are plenty of rats down there. Some of the inmates already have recipes for rats, i suspect. ROAR |
