In the proposal, I stated that the cars would share tracks with freight trains wherever necessary. However, Lower Montauk is wide enough that it could accommodate more than two tracks. |

If the Fort Hamilton Parkway branch to SI had been built, 7th Ave would have been the transfer point between these trains and the Culver line. Maybe that played a part in the design. |

I'm proposing the Lower Montauk because it goes through an area that doesn't have subway service already. This 'express' would have some stops east of Metropolitan ave, then non-stop to a new el following the Montauk cutoff, afterward diving down to the 63rd tunnel. I'm not so sure that routing is ok, but I can't think of another routing to manhattan. |

I know what your saying..but you know like I do..the TA tried that..and those folks came out in droves saying how the line would ruin their nab..how they would lay across the row all that crazy nimby crap..It would be an EXCELLENT ROW for new subway service..but if you can get past the crazies..i all for it. |
