OK, the LION Gooooogled "Corey Maye" and read what happened.

The LION agrees with you. Corey should NOT have been found guilty of murder under any circumstance. He should NOT have even been brought to trial. He was awaken from sleep by intruders, went and un-boxed a weapon, loaded it, and when the room that he was in was entered by armed men, he fired.

People who enter other people's homes be they law enforcement officers or not run the risk of being shot. Clearly the officers did not use good police procedures if one of them got shot. If the cops were up to training, Cory would have been the one who was shot, and that would not have been right either.

In California you could say "shit happens" as we all know well that it does. In Mississippi there was clearly a miscarriage of justice, this is especially so given the states mishandling of the evidence in Maye's apartment.

LION'S VERDICT: Mississippi is Guilty: Maye goes free with remuneration for injustice done him.
