Actually, the BMT did not cancel the order for the remaining Bluebirds, the city did. Also, historical documentation indicated that the Bluebirds were intended for a new high speed local service on the 4 Av subway between 95 St and Gold St using a new loop just N/O Gold St the bellmouths for which can still be seen.
