It sounds strange but I have this memory of riding in the family car through that neighborhood and seeing a derelict steel structure that abruptly ended in mid-path.You're not the only one, I saw that bridge approach sometime in the '60s. My father who once lived in LIC drove through the area when I noticed it. I tried to revisit the area years ago, but could not find the bridge approach. But now you cleared up a mystery that has been bugging me for years. I do remember cars parked on the approach of what remained of that bridge. Thanks ! Bill Newkirk |
