Lets not forget that Mr Link spent hours setting up the shots, including multiple flash units (42 of them for one picture, possibly even more for others). MTA police would really let us get away with that - they barely tolerate a hand-held camera :) I'm sure the MTA may allow a staged shot but at a fee that would price it beyond the ability of anyone who posts here.I think, for example, an O. Winston Link-style nighttime commuter rail shot would be perfectly legal since you would probably be setting up off of MTA property. The only consideration might be permission from the municipality. An el shot could be done from an apartment or rooftop without any question of legality, because you wouldn't be under any jurisdiction at all. I don't suggest trying these simply because you would blind the crew, but it seems technically legal. |
